Wink Re: How to make an instruction?

I just wrote my first ebook and ran into several problems, so maybe this will help you avoid some of my issues:

Write it in Word, and make sure you down-size your pictures. You can do this with a free software (made by Google) called Picasa (go to picasa.com to download).

Then I used a website to convert my word doc into pdf format. It is a free service as well...you download your document to their site, they convert it, send you an email with a link, follow the link and download the new pdf file onto your computer. You may also want to compress this file or put it in a zip file to make it small enough to send through email.

Most email attachments only allow 10 MB so make sure that your file is smaller than that before you attach it. (At first, mine was over 20 MB because I hadn't compressed all my pictures!)

Then you're done! Good luck! I hope this helps...maybe I should write instructions on how to write instructions?

After you save your ms word..File - Print (printer name from drop down box - Instead of your printer name -- choose the pdf file- there shd be adobe if you have windows installed) -- then ok..

Few seconds later it will verify the name of the PDF and done!

If you have no PDF, wendy suggested a free program called PDF creator. Once you install, that will again come down in the drop down box under print properties, HTH

I used to use cutepdf.com to convert to PDF, but I have found in my MS Word that I can click "save as" and then click "pdf". I don't know if that is new with my newer version on Word or if it's always been there But I just save it as a PDF in Word now

I also know a good proof reader if anyone wants her name!

I don't see any pdf in save as type drop box and printer drop box. I guess, I have to go to microsoft.com to download the converter.

Ok, I went to microsoft.com and download the pdf converter. However, I still can't find any pdf in save as type drop box. I'm confused.
