Default FOE headbands

Hi ladies!
I was wondering if anyone can tell me how u sew FOE headbands together? I got some in the mail today and I was so excited to try to make one but I can't seem to sew it together on a sew machine. I don't know if it's b/c there isn't much material to run it through (I'm new at using a sewing machine).
Do u sew it on a machine or by hand? Thought it would look neater using a machine.

I sew it by hand, there is a wonderful set of instructions for an FOE headband if you search this forum

Thanks!! And I'm still not good at searching.
What if I just want to have an option of just making the headbands w/o making them interchangable? Should I still wrap that ribbon? Does it matter? I'm asking b/c if I make for older girls, they don't neccessarily want a bow on it, ya know what I mean?

I sew mine by hand, and I used the tutorial that ThreeBlessings posted.

I don't think there is a right or wrong way to cover the seam. You certainly don't have to.

Here's an idea: you could add the ribbon to make it interchangeable, and if the girl doesn't want to wear it with anything attached, she could put that part under her hair at the back of her head.

Hi there! I put together that tutorial because someone wanted to know how to make the headbands interchangeable. If you just want a plain FOE headband i would still suggest using ribbon to cover the seams. You can just hot glue the ribbon on the inside and out so that there is no loop. HTH

**wow, the forum is having some troubles tonight**

For the third attempt-I hope this doesn't end up posting multiple times!!

I sew my flower onto the headband at the seam, and then line the inside seam with some velvet. I think it adds a bit of non-slip grip, and it's soft on the baby's head.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to try again tomorrow. I'm beat. I work full time too n I have a 20 month old girl who just loves hanging on me which makes it hard for me to do anything.
Lol. I hit the send reply twice by mistake so my post came up twice. Sorry
