Default Putting bows on pony-o's

I've had a request from a customer but I'm not sure of how to do them. She doesn't like clips or barrettes and wants to know if the bows I make can come on a pony-o. Has anyone ever put korkers, pinwheels, boutique, or any other kind of bow on a pony-o? And how would you do it? I want to tell her that I can do more than just streamers on them. But if it seems too hard or doesn't look right, I'll tell her that for every bow she gets I'll give her a free pony-o!
Thanks in advance for the help.

What about if you cut a small round piece of felt and put glue on it then sandwiched the elastic in between that and the bow? Might be worth trying. Your bows are obviously not going to be super big anyway so it might work. Looking forward to seeing other ideas.

Wink Re: Putting bows on pony-o's

I make them! Do a search here on cheer bows...they only use pony-o's so that might help.

What I do is make the first two loops of a boutique (or twisted) bow, sew the loops together in the middle, letting the tails hang down at the bottom. Pinch the middle accordian-style, wrap the string around it and tie off in the back. Then I use a piece of 3/8th for the center. I put the pony-o on the back of the bow and cover it with the end of my 3/8 piece and glue this end to the bow back. I wrap the 3/8 around the center of the bow in the front and glue the other end on the back so the pony-o is covered (and so is my sewing).

I just started doing these, so I don't know if it's the best way, but I tested one out with my daughter and it stayed in (and stayed put) all day

I hope this was easy to understand! I can take some pictures for you if it would help!!!!

Ok this is fast but here is ONE way I do it

Start with bow and other materials you need

hold pony o next to bow as shown

put one pony o end inside the loop of the other

and pull tight

put a dab of glue on the joining spot

cover the center of the bow as you would going THROUGH the hole in the pony o, I usually wrap it around a couple of times

Like such

and so

trim and heat seal or fray check

there she is on her back

And showing off her belly

Voila........I will try to get my MOVABLE way up too

I like the way you wrap it around the centre first. That would stop the band moving around too much and keep everything in place while you are glueing.

Thanks for sharing

Wow! Thank you so much! That was a great tut! Is it ok if I make mine that way? And now what about korkers? Any ideas there? Anyone? I'm worried that putting a korker on a pony-o would make it separate and it would look skimpy/less full.

I do the same on korkers, I use the thinner pony os. and to cover the pony o I use the 1/4 inch ribbon and tie a really tight knot for the middle of the korker and they look fine. here is one of mine
