Default Butterfly

Anyone have any tips for making a butterfly like this?

I think I have a good idea, but am wondering what is behind the korked ribbon to keep in stable.

Any tips would be appreciated. I want to make one for DD to wear on a kufi cap.

Thanks!

That is where I saw it also.

I found the other tutorial in the free section that looks similar to this. I am going to try to experiment with making it a little bigger. I still wonder if a vertical alligator clip is enough to stabilize the center of if the one in the link used something else?

try using the technique from these instructions but use larger ribbon. and if your going to use the same korker center you might use a larger dowel to make them. because everything looks like 7/8" ribbon.
hope that helps.

I make mine sort of the way ribbon retreat does. When you make the actual butterfly, there is a place in the center of it that you can place the korker. I just glue it down the same I would a flat center. I attatched a pic that shows a smaller korker in the center. It looks like the one in your pic has a flat peice of ribbon underneath the korker, but it is really not necessary, IMO.

If you have any question, pm me. I make tons of butterflies.
