Default Yes, ANOTHER bottle cap question

So, bottlecaps... we have tried the envirotex- getting better at it. We are using a Xyron with permanent adhesive and the image is still getting a dark ring around it like the envirotex is seeping underneath. This happens with both photopaper and heavy. glossy laser brochure paper. Now, my hubby is sealing them with modge podge. Should we do the whole image and around the edges or just around the edges? Will the brush strokes show thru the envirotex? I have read the blog with the instructions but maybe I am missing something. HELP please!

Yes, you have to seal around the edges also. I do the backside and let it dry. Then I do the front side and let it dry. I punch the image out and then attach it to the cap with the Xyron machine. I then mod podge the side with a toothpick usually so I don't get to much on my cap!

Hth,

Cristi

The brush strokes won't show under the ET Lite. At least mine never have.

So, if i print my pictures at the photo lab, would you think I should still be sealing both the front and the back BEFORE I run it thru the xyron, and then seal the sides after I put in on the cap?

My experience is that if you print at a photo lab then you won't have to seal the images!

yeah, even the ones we've done at the photolab had stuff go under. Made a dark ring. So we did an experiment tonight, will EP tomorrow night and see how it goes. Thanks for your help!

I have that problem no matter where I print if the background image is white. I seal with ModPodge over the whole image, and the sides, then quickly wipe off with my finger around the edge. I do put the MP on with my finger - not a brush. Goes faster for me. Better control.

Has anyone tried using fingernail polish to seal before putting ET lite on? I am going to try this and I will let you know. Question...If you seal edges with modge podge and get on top of picture image, does this counteract with the ET lite????

We did some caps with MP all over the top and sides, some with just the side done and both sets turned out beautifully after we EP'ed them. FINALLY! No brush strokes showed thru and no indication that we used the MP at all... except no seepage!
Thanks for your help ladies, my goodness I think we've got it!
