So you hot glue the ribbon onto the alligator clip with the silicon part meaning to touch the hair as a grip right? Also what type of silicon are you using? Have you had any problems with it pealing off? I use velvet on the inside of all my clips..I would luv to try this. Thanks

yes, the silicone part touches the hair and you glue or tape (what I used) to the clip, I used to use velvet too

I use silicone on mine too... LOVE it!!! So easy! and I've never had any peel off... I don't think it would... my husband used silicone caulk in our kitchen, got some on the cabinet and I tried to peel it off... no luck, had to use a razor blade to get most of it off, but you can still see the spot!

I wanted to ask what kind of silicone you use as well; i use some i found in my garage, but i don't like how it looks, it's like an ugly beige color.

I use Perfecto Manufacturing 100% Clear Silicone Rubber Aquarium Sealant
