Thanks - sorry if I'm asking to many questions regardings this but it was really frustrating me!!

Not at all. The no-slip has become my obsession, second only to double stick tape.

I have used/ruined several differents tubes of silicone, clips, ribbons etc., figuring it out just becuase I became so determined. I love the functionality of the silicone once I figured it out, hated the frustration.

I wish I could use this method, but mine never dries completely and always sticks to itself no matter how long I let it cure.

I tried this again the other night and mine are still sticky as well, it has been over 72 hours now for curing.
I was thinking maybe my silicone was older and was going to pick up a new one?
Our house at the moment is quite humid which I was wondering if this what cause the problem as well?

It has been my experience that this happens after the second use of an open tube. That is why I always use the whole tube immediately, it always cures perfectly for me that way.

I am by all means not an expert with silicone. I have only used it on toggle head bands, but I love it. I don't use the tip that comes with the tube. I just squeeze gently from the bottom of the tube. When I'm done applying it to my ribbons I just put the cap back on. The next time that I use it I have to pull out the self made plug with a straight pin and it is ready to go. I hope that makes sense.

The aquarium sealant has always worked just fine for me except that it doesn't hold in hair as well as I would like. I've seen non-slip grips that can hold a clip onto one little hair. Anyone have an idea of how THIS is accomplished?
