same here! I never heard of it before and thought this was a general question. If there is an entire google site devoted to it - obviously this is something that happens everywhere, all the time. None-the-less, I still think it's funny. But I have a warped sense of humor, too

with the caveat that I am extremely sensitive, I think that in some situations is it a bit on the rough side. I think with the written word being dry, some people tend to take it in a more crude way that it might be intended. That said, some people are better at googling then others, personally, when someone posts a question here, I LOVE to google and find neat little snippets of information so I just go google it myself and post the links. If I feel that is not something I want to look for, I just hit the back button and ignore it. Again, things like the same question being posted over and over doesnt bug me one bit, I just dont get my feathers ruffled over too much.

I dont find it offensive at all. I agree with Missy Kay though. Some people come on the forum, and just post 50 threads in 10 minutes..just being lazy, and not wanting to actually search for the answer, like we all did when we started with this. I know this forum is to help each other out, and many of you know I love nothing more than helping others out, but I am not gonna hold someones hand and start their bow business for them when they are too lazy to google something simple.

That being said, I also agree with Alison, the written word has no emotion, and can be read in an ill manner. Some people take offence to constructive criticism, even though they may have asked for it. The best way to take this forum is with a grain of salt. Dont get mad over something that has happened or said on the forum. Just brush it off you shoulder and keep on truckin!!

Let's all agree to this....it was offensive to some and funny to others. Opinions are like tail-holes, everybody has one. Now, let's get down to the real purpose of this forum. Let's help each other as much as possible. Let's lift each other up and make sure that we can all continue our dream of being WAHM's by sharing ideas and helping our newbies. Smiles

i find it kind of hurtfull but i am sensitive, i also find it funny becuase i have a good sense of humor! i don't mind helping people at all but i have been making bows for four years and just found this site in march, so it is kind of hard for me to give out free info when people are just to lazy to look it up or at least try to. i mean there are some days when i get on here that the first page of new posts is all by the same person and they are just asking how to do this where to buy this and they only have like 15 posts....... i mean come on! i am the worst at googling the worst, but i do try i also search on here!

so is it harsh yea maybe but well deserved to some, is it funny heck to the yeah!!!

haha I love it!!! I would suggest it to anyone that doesnt use the little "search" button on the page. I mean really why was it put there? For you to search things. Im not sure about anyone else but it does get annoying seeing people asking the same questions over and over...

I didn't mean to start a debate, I'm sorry. I am one that googles everything, and I usually try to remember to do a search on the forum before I post a question. Yes it does bug me when someone comes on here and asks a question that has been asked a million times, but I ignore it and move on to the next topic.

Ok, so I can see this from both sides. I am an extremely sensitive person and would have taken that comment way too personally. On the other hand, I feel like saying that to people everyday at my job, but I would never do it. I am also the type of person who will try to figure things out on my own, so I rarely ask questions, but I know there are people who are the exact opposite. The search function is great, if you know how to use it ( it took me a few tries to figure out words hod to be a certain length). Also, new people might not always know the proper terms they are looking for. I guess I just figure if you don't want to answer, just skip it. Or introduce the person to the search button.

IMO I think it's funny, but I have been here for a while and have seen people come in ask 50 questions and 50 gimme's and then never share or come back to the board unless it's for an i-want post. There are stickys all over the board that can answer your questions, but some people are just to lazy to do there own research or buy instructions that the rest of us have googled, yahooed, bought or whatever else we did. It's ok to ask questions if you have done your research first. Usually if you go to the next page of posting you will find the exact same post over and over again. Ok sorry to rant.
