here are the instructions i got from the oriental trading website. i dun really understand it. i'm not sure how the metal headpin comes into the picture. if i use a wire to secure it how do i do it without showing.

I have these kind and this is what I did. The same would work for the regular crocs as well I'm sure.

This style comes with a bow, so the turquoise part was already on there. All I did was just put some ribbon around it the other way:

That way I could use an alligator clip and just slide it through:

And wa-la! Simple as that. The only problem is you have to have the shoes in order to do it this way...I had a lady send me some loafer type shoes that had ribbon threaded in them. I rethreaded them and did it just like this so she can interchange her bows. It just makes is SO much easier!

I made the ones sewn to buttons and they are working great on DD's crocs

I thought about trying those, but wasn't sure of difficulty. Are they hard to make?

No it was SUPER easy. My only recommendation would be to use Fabric-tac instead of hot glue because it's kind of hard to push the needle through the hot glue. But basically, it's just a boutique bow with a button sewn on the back. I was pretty rough on DD's and they haven't fallen apart yet...

Oh oh oh--how about if you thread the headpin through the top of the dodad...like they say, then before you put the bow center on, you wrap the metal around...twisting just enough to keep the bow in, then wrap your center around the bow, covering the metal...then twist the metal down really well. Not sure if this will work--as I do not have a dodad to try it on--does this make sense though?
