Default Alligator Clip Question

Hello everyone - love, love, love this forum! You ladies have provided me with soooo many answers.

This is probably a silly question, but when it comes to alligator clips, which side do you place next to the bow? The flat side, or the side where the clip juts up?

My teenaged niece and I are arguing over which side is which - please help us settle this friendly discussion!

Thanks in advance!!

I usually put them opposite of each other so that they match up when you are looking at the in someones hair. It also depends if your doind sets or not and if not then you pit it on how ever.

Not the flat side, the part that curves up. : )

neither one is right or wrong. I used to put it on the side that the pinch curves up. But sometimes that warps the shape of the bow or ribbon sculpture, so I put it on the flat side.

So, let me understand this..the side that curves up is against the bow?

As moms (I don't have kids and my niece is 15 now--no hair bows..sniffle sniffle), do you find it's easier to put the bow in with a specific method? It seems a little trickier to find the curved up part when it's pressing into the ribbon back.

Ladies..thanks to all of you for advising me! I really really appreciate you!

I have done them either way, depending on the bow or clippie. Sometimes I use the flat side for clippies to make them lay right. (Flat side against bow) Most of the time for regular bows, I put the curved side against the bow.

I only attach to the curved side of the clip. I understand that some ribbon sculptures look better if attached to the flat side of the clip, but I'm a serious dork and hate it when I order a clip that has been attached to the bottom-flat part-of the clip. For some reason my brain says "this is wrong" and I have such a hard time using them!

Thanks everyone for your helpful replies. So, what the majority is telling me is this: My 15 yr old niece wins! Great...I'll never live that one down.
