Default Questions on starching

Can anyone tell me if they starch their bows after attaching them to the hardware or before? I have several new bows that I starched using sta-flo but I noticed a couple of my alligator clips rusted??? UGH! Any advice on a better way to starch, better product?? or an easy way to dismantle a bow to reattach to a new clip? I guess I learned my lesson....starch before....as a side note I love how the sta-flo worked my bows look nice and fluffy

I always line my clips- no matter what type of clip- so I starch at the very end. After everything is assembled.

Maybe you can slide some paper or something around to cover the clip then starch?

I starch right after i make the bow before i put it all together. My first starching attempt was with a boutique surround a bow. It was all the way done just no clip attached, but this morning after seeing what it actually does i decided to make a bow then starch, finish the other parts to the bow and starch the other bows, so they are all fluffy and then put together, sorry if this makes no sense, i am no good at explaining things. Hope this helps

Me too. I starch before doing my final step of attaching the bow to the clip.

funnnnyyyy I just asked this in another thread. Still a question though, does the starch have to dry before you finish assembly?

I wait for it to dry before I finish the assembly because I noticed that the ribbons are a little odd afterwards when they are not completely dry when I am doing major "man-handling" at the end.
