Default Any Advice?

Yesterday when I was shopping for school clothes I ran across some hairbows that where made with korker. They where very stiff.
I liked this idea.My question is if I put fabric stiffener on the ribbon would I put it on before I bake my korker? I'm afraid to bake the ribbon with a chemical on it.
Any suggestions?

I haven't made bows in a long time, but when I made Korkers for cheer teams, I used spray starch and put them in the oven. They were VERY stiff and stayed stiff for a long time.

I spray them with starch before I 'bake' them but I also spray them again after the bow is all made.
I use regular spray starch and a shot of hair spray, dry them with the hair dryer and they don't move!

I spray them with starch before baking and again after I make the korker. Then I dry them upside-down to dry. Keeps them nice and poofy.

Ah,see I was thinking about the fabric stiffner and I was afraid it would come out to hard and I was also afraid to bake it ,not wanting to blow up my oven, but I think the starch sounds great. As matter of fact Ive got them in the oven now and its still safe and sound!
Ill let you know how it turns out.
