Default Cheer bow help needed

Hello everyone. I have cheer bow order. My problem, when I use Heat and bond to fuse them together, ribbon dont fuse very well. I thought I did good, but when I sew the bow and crease, that is when ribbon comes apart. Please, help.

Are you using grosgrain ribbon?

How long are you leaving the iron on for?

Yes, I am using grosgrain. I kinda iron it like usually. The thing is, that I use 3 layers of ribbon, 2.25, 1.5 and 7/8. 7/8 fuses very good, but 1.5 easily peels off. They are different quality though......

The quality could be the difference.
Are you ironing the two pieces for different amounts of time.

i suggest using double sided tape. to secure it, go ahead and lightly iron it so it fuses. hopefully, the result won't be the same as heat and bond. HTH

While I agree the quality of ribbon may be making a difference, might I also suggest using E6000 glue. The only difficulty I have run into with that is when using light colored ribbon. It does tend to bleed through. But if you are using darker ribbons on top, that will not be a problem.

I would use the heat n bond on the first layer and then the E6000 on the rest. That will definately help. It smells terrible, but it works and the bows aren't quite as stiff as cardboard in the end.

Thank you, but it is not an option for me. Its the white ribbon that didnt fuse.
Double sided tape is hard to sew through, needle becomes sticky. And when you need a lot to get done?
So, are you guys have the problem with HeatnBond too?

I have never had this problem with heat n bond before. Maybe if you could share a pic of what is going on. I do not sew any of my bows. I use an embroidery needle and floss to get them together.
