Default Tutu help

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I searched and can't find what I'm looking for.

When you wrap a tutu with ribbon around the waistband, do you pull it tight between the knots, or leave it really loose? How much do you typically need? And, is the standard 1.5'' or do some people use 7/8''?

This is a good tut, scroll down to the end and you'll find the info on a ribbon waistband!
