Smile Re: Non-slip?

I've read here somewhere that you can use the plastic tubing used in fish bowls (buy at Walmart) and just cut enough to put around the bottom part (the unlined side) of the clippie. I haven't tried this yet, but maybe I need to take a trip to wally-world today....
Does anyone have the link? The bow-maker who posted the idea had pictures included that were very helpful.

I used these when Ally finally got hair. The shelf liner works much better IMO.

I've been using the Duck brand carpet gripper stuff. I think it holds about as well as shelf liner. Unfortunately it's falling apart! It's slowly peeling off it's sticky backing! (Yes, I took off the paper backing first!)

Soooo glad I've only been using it on my DD's bows so far!

Yeah, the stuff can wear off. don't wash the Duck stuff. It will not hold up.

Just from personal past experience, the clippies I had with the magnetic strip...the magnet was kinda' ... just filler; like you'd be serving the same purpose if you lined the clip with anything of that thickness.

I like lining mine with either felt ric-rac or velvet trim. These can be "roughed-up" if they need to be and they don't detract from the attractiveness of the bow!

Self liner is working great for us.

thanks mbland. Glad to know the duck rug liner isn't washable. I think we'll stick to shelf liner.

I just tried the fist tank tubing and the jury is out...they seem to work really well with single prong alligators, but won't stay on the double prong. I tried hot glue to make them stay but they still slid off. I'm gonna try to find that thread....

Ok here is the other thread I was thinking of, if it may help anyone...there are lots of great pictures on here! I think it's a good idea for 1 prong, and stays on really well.

What part of the velcro do you use? I'm trying some new options for gripper.
I tried the tank tubing and it didn't stay in DD hair maybe I did it wrong
