You might look around for rental shops in the area. One of the county pageant directors here took over half of her husband's locksmith shop and turned it into a pageant/prom rental shop. I found a couple sites online that actually rent flower girl dresses. I don't think they have anything for glitz pageants, but definitely would for the natural pageants.

She is 3 years old but she just wears (in clothes) the biggest a 2T and that is really just in shirts...she can still wear like 18 months sometimes 12 in shorts...she is really petite. I was looking at one dress and it was like 2T - 3t OR SLIM 4 AND I figured that would probably be a good size for her. She used to do the pageants as a baby then we got out of them for a little while.

I will try to get some pics for you. I think 1 is 2t light pink and the other is white 18 months. The pink is a little fancier that I bought used so it has been through a couple of pageants but still in very good condition very little TLC needed and the white one was bought for a wedding but definately fancy enough for a pageant or it would be for around here. Let me see if I can resize some pics I have. I am having trouble posting pics. Any help would be wonderful.

Have you tried eBay? There are TONS on there. I have bought one that way. Are you looking for a glitz dress or natural?

Hi Ladies,

How did you get started in pageants? Reilly is 10 months now, but I would like to start in the spring. Any suggestions?

Melanie

Ebay is wonderful for pageant dresses...if your looking for pageant wear (for themed pageants) try ebay and etsy. That's where I got Madalynn's 4th of July wear (ETSY).

You need to decide what kind of pageants you are going to do...all natural, semi glitz, or glitz. All natural means no makeup, hairpeices, flippers, or spray tans. Semi-glitz (I may be a little off on this but you'll get the idea) can use lite age appropriate makeup if you want, small hairpeces, ect. Glitz is all out...flippers, spray tans, large hairpeices, heavy heavy makeup.

I personally do the natural and semi glitz (during the semi-glitz we still don't use any makeup). I don't want my baby growing up any faster than she has to. A little one a month younger than Madalynn in the last pageant had on eye liner, mascara, foundation, the works...it really bothered DH to see it but hey it's the parents choice.

After you decide what kind of pageant you want to enter just google pageants in your area. That's how I found mine...hth

As far as the pageants that she is in there is a wonderful local pageant system in our area. The directors are very sweet ladies and the judging seems to be very fair which you don't see a whole lot. (Money talks in this area anyways). But we have done 3 in this system previously and they were great. The girls wear pageant wear (glitz and semi glitz) but they are ot all made up with makeup and things. Cause they judge on natural beauty as well.
So we are looking for a glitz dress...we have our eye on one but are waiting just a little while to decide for sure. Its a little expensive but she doesn't grow very fast so she will be able to wear it a few times I am sure. Thanks for all of your input and if anyone else reads just post some pics cause we are still looking!!! Thanks!!!
