Default Fabric Flower Question

Any Ideas on how to prevent fraying on a flower like this?

Shabby Chic Flower Beanie (Toddler-School Age) by LittleFortuneCookie on Etsy

I was thinking of spraying with starch, but wondered if anyone had any other ideas?

"fray check" --test it on an inconspicuous spot first to see if it discolours

I used to use a light weight fusible interfacing on my fabric before cutting it, I wish I could find the right die to make these flowers

I would suggest fray check as well. I have never tried it but maybe you could buy a thin paintbrush and use some clear nailpolish to outline the underside before you cut them. BTW they are gorgeous

you can use the interfacing alone....it sells for cheap by the yard at hobby lobby...or you can use the pellon wonder under and fuse the fabric to a layer of felt. Both products are easy to use.

The die cut is a sizzix die. Don't have the name right off the top of my head...but it's sizzix!

They are left to fray. That's the whole shabby chic thing It won't fray too much unless it is washed, then you'd just trim up the long strands.
