Default how to add a clip to a flower

Hello,

I am new here and have read so many great posts and have seen many, many beautiful bows on here.

I ordered some crochet headbands and am starting to put a few flowers together for when they get here. I am not a sewer so I am wanting to put it on an alligator clip. How do you do so? I just made one and where the hinge part is making that part of the flower stick up. Should it be closer to the center or should the hinge be sticking away from the center of the flower(like more in the petal part).

I hope I am making sense!!!

Thanks

I have looked through the threads and have only found how to make the flowers but not specifics about the clips. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks again.

You have two choices:

1. Leave it as is - the customer doesn't seem to mind.

2. Turn your clip upside down so the flat surface is now the top and glue your flower to the flat surface:

You can move the flower closer to the center of the clip. And sometimes, depending on the flower, if you use hot glue across the entire top of the clip and press your flower down all the way across, it will hold down the bottom petals and "flatten" it out a little more. know what I mean. you'll need to experiment with a few clips!

I line my clips the opposite way for my flowers. I attach the clips upside down and the flower lays more flat.

I have a question to add.

Do you remove the plastic from the back of the flower in order to glue it to the clip? I have been disassembling the flowers, gluing the petals with fabric glue then using hot glue to adhere the plastic flower part back on to the petals. I think it gives the flower a little more depth. But was just wondering what other people do.

Thanks

I take off the back piece of plastic because I like the flower to lay a little flatter and closer to the clip.

I line my alligator clip and then I glue a piece of ribbon to the back of the flower. Then I hot glue the alligator clip to that piece of ribbon.
