Duh! Can you tell how frustrated this bow has had me?

Here's a picture of the front. I still feel like I'm doing something wrong, but with Serena's awesome tutorial, and practice, hopefully it will come to me.

Thanks, Yeah your getting good. It may also be the type of ribbon your using. The ribbon looks like its very thin and floopy. Try grosgrain ribbon

This brand of ribbon IS a harder one to use when starting out. I would recommend Shiff or Offray solid grosgrain (Like TRR or RABOM's).

Ideally, you want the fronts to go straight up and down and the backs to go straight side to side, if that makes any sense at all. That is what makes it a twisted boutique and not just a boutique. So, try pulling the backs of the loops more horizontally. Here is a good page with tips for how to fluff the bow.

I always starch and bake ALL my twisted boutiques to make them behave! Especially when doing a layered boutique.

Here are some of my latest pretties:

It took me a long time to get here & I still find imperfections. One thing I wish I would have known when I started:
Always, Always click siggies to peek at the work of who's advice you're following. You'll get soooo much advice here. Its up to you to follow the advice of the person that you want to create bows like.

I tried it again this morning with stiffer ribbon in the 1.5" size. Let me know what you guys think.

I also fluffed it up more, and added some starch and blow dried it. I think I am starting to get the hang of this bow, and I couldn't have done it without everyone's help! Thank you again, so much!

What length are you using? I use 24" for 1.5" ribbon. The correct length and the correct angles are what makes or breaks a twisted boutique. Also, if you want to try the way I do it : the pin method and I pin it to the armrest of my couch so the angles are pinched down and stay better. I do it just like this, only I separate my loops farther than she does. I make the fronts go almost straight up and down so it turns out like this:

This is 24" of 1.5" Grosgrain using the pin method.

This is 24" of 1.5" Grosgrain using the pin method.
I used 22" of 1.5" grosgrain, per the instructions on the website that was posted earlier. I'll try the pin method tonight.

That is a very pretty bow. I wish I could do something like that.
