Default Favorite Way to Make a Twisted Boutique Bow

I want to know what your favorite way to make a twisted boutique bow is. I use the "figure 8" method. I have a bow maker from TRR but I don't really like the way those look when their done. What do you use to make a twisted boutiqe bow?

Unhappy Re: Favorite Way to Make a Twisted Boutique Bow

I have the bowmaker from TRR, TNT,and the BBM and still can not do them. I guess I am not cut out for the twisted. I can do all the others but can't get this one.

I have figured out how long my ribbon needs to be for each size (I do minis, 2 inch, 3 inch, 4, 5 and 6 inch) I don't tend to do a lot of plain twisted, I ALWAYS use them in my layered bows. I just sit in front of the TV with my needle and thread, cut to length and do it by hand. Sometimes I have to start over and do the bow again but I remember trying to get the style down............man I thought I was going to GO CRAZY!!!! Once you get it, it is like riding a bike. You will never forget. Good luck, pm me if you need pointers!

I fold mine by hand, which can be annoying, but I refuse to spend money on a template. I never buy instructions, I like the feeling of everything I do, being made by hand with no helkp with anything. Sure, I have to start over sometimes, but oh well.

i just fold mine and go, i don't measure i dont mark i just use my eye, they always end up looking nearly exactly the same so i will stick with it (i can also bust about 40 of these out an hour including the center and lined clip so it seems to work for me)

I have Devon's TNT Templates. Couldn't do these without them. Uniform everytime.

I use a combo of tools, I use the TNT template to fold and shape the loops and then I use the gator bite to get the crease perfect. My bows come out uniform and perfect every single time and I never have to re-do them, plus I timed myself yesterday and it only takes me 1 minute and 36 seconds to make a bow.

I can make them by just folding and eyeballing to get them straight. I used sbb instructions when i first started out. I have bought the tnt and love it also.

I do figure 8 by hand and eyeball. It works for me, the more I do the faster I get.
