For a TBB with tails take the lenght of the template you want to use X5 then - 1/2 inch. So if I am using a 4.5" template (which I usually am) (4.5 X 5) -1/2 = 22 inches. For no tails I take the size of the template x 4 then add 1 inch. So with the 4.5 inch temp it is (4.5 X 4) + 1 = 19 inches. Probably TMI and a little confusing...that's ME!

Very creative of you!

I have the Tabby templates. I am still learning how to make bows, but it makes it so much easier!

Three questions and I am sure they have probably been answered somewhere on the forum but I can't find them. What is a twisted bow, how does it differ from a boutique bow, and what do all the initials stand for when someone mentions a template they use? I wouldn't know how to buy a template from just the initials everyone talks about. Sometimes I think I am just going to quit because I only make them for my grand daughters and an occasional friend of theirs, but I have no idea half the time what all you experienced bow makers are talking about.
Thanks,
Janice

I am the same way!! I do mine by hand also, and have never bought a template. I love that everything I do I have practiced and learned my own technique

i can't figure them out for the life of me. i have TTR and BBM and just ordered TNT to see if that might help. i've got the other bows figured out, but the twisted boutique keeps on twisting ME!! i would PAY to have an expert come to my house to show me how to do it b/c i've spent a lot of $ already on so many tutorials and templates in my que4st for the perfect TWISTED bow! i'm going to keep at it, hoping i'll have that "aha!" moment some day soon!

Oh my gosh! I'm so glad I stumbled upon this thread. I have been doing bows for just over a year now and I can not, for the life of me, get the tbb down! I've done the figure-8 fold, the muliple creases and fold, the cardboard template, etc...was just getting ready to order the NBNG templates but really don't want to spend the $$. I can not figure out what I'm doing wrong. The bows come out great but don't have that defined X look to them. Once in a while I get one or two but then back to the way they were before. What am I doing wrong?
So frustrating.
