Interesting question - I was at a boutique last summer, and they carried some dyed kufis with a flower - and sold them for $40!!!!! I have wanted to try it, but obviously haven't!The thing I liked about the hats they had is that they had done 2 colors. They did the top in a sage green and the bottom in a soft pink. Both colors faded toward the middle and blended slightly. Very soft, very pretty. And $40!!!!
PS - if you do it - let us know how it works out for you!

I have tried this but the dye doesn't take all too well. I had tried to make a couple orange ones & cooked them forever but they are still a fairly ight orange. I used a few different colors & they all did this. They were all the 100% cotton ones. I used RIT dye so maybe another one might work better.
