Default Pleating tulle for sewn tutu

Has anyone used this pleating method to make a sewn tutu?

YouTube - Pleating a tutu

If so, how many yards of tulle did you end up using to make one tutu?

That is a method for pleating a classical tutu. Then the layers are stacked and attached to the panty. I guess what I am trying to say is it is for a "stage" tutu. If you are looking to do a sewn tutu for a child (not a tied one that someone sews a waistband over) for play, I can help you with that. HTH

I've been looking for a sewn tutu tutorial but I haven't really found one that I like. I would like to try one with ribbon attached to the bottom. Do you have any suggestions for a sewn tutu? TIA!

Wow, I am a little suprised at the response. My method is really simplistic and I am sure ther are much better ways. I am almost embarrassed to send how I do them, lol. How about I send them to you 5 ladies and you can tell me how to improve what I do. Maybe I could write them up a little better then. Please send honest feedback though.
