Default E6000

for those of you who use E6000.... do you buy special tips for the tube? if so where do you get them? Is there a trick to keeping the end clean/clear? I feel like so much goes to waste because of "oozing"

Thanks!

I'm sure there is a tip you can use, but I don't have it. My trick is to keep the tube standing upright if possible. Less will ooze out. I also put the cap back on after every time I use it. The nice thing about the E6000 is that it doesn't immediately dry like hot glue so you have some time to use the glue and then replace the cap before assembly.

I always squirt a little on a piece of cardboard/platic plate/ paper. Then I use a tooth pick or the actual item and dip it off the paper. Does that make since. That way I can squirt a little out and I don't have to unscrew the cap 20 times. Cause it does ooz out too much. If my lid gets real nasty I just peel it off. It is hard but it can be done.

That's why I love this group...using a toothpick is a great idea, I had stopped using E6000 because of the ooze. Thanks now I have to see if I can get the cap off.......

THis may sound silly but I've found that a nut pick works perfect for this (you know the metal tool that is always in the bowl of nuts around the holidays?) It has a little turned end.... I use it all the time : )

If your cap gets stuck, just run it under hot, hot water for a bit and it will loosen right up!

I am low tech...lol when I use it. I use a tooth pick to apply it to clippies and a popcicle stick for bigger projects.
