Default ribbon sculptures

Just wondering how difficult it is to make ribbon sculptures and do I need to buy instructions? Or can I just wing it?

In all honesty...if you are pretty good with your hands and good at eyeballing....its not too hard to wing it...

I winged it with all my ribbon characters.

I agree, if you are at all visual, try looking at a picture really closely and play with you ribbon. One suggestion: makes notes as you go about ribbon lengths, etc, so you can re-create it later!

I can not follow directions to save my life. I just eyeball everything, and it works great for me.

I will just try eyeballing them. I just don't want to pay more money for instructions. I've spent hundreds on instructions already and usually they aren't worth the money.

Spitfireshortie yours are awesome!!

I think for some things you can "wing it" and there are also lots of free instructions to get started. Sometimes, I've found it easier to purchase instructions b/c some things take so long to figure out. With the instructions, you can just get started.

I don't use instructions for mine. They are not the easiest things to make though, I think you need a knack for it and a good eye for detail. I've seen some pretty sad sculptures out there....

I usually eyeball mine as well, though I do have one tip... make sure you write down your measurements as you go and adjust them as necessary if something is too long/short.

Same here I have only bought a the basic from michelle and the fish from wendy and her gymnast girls.
the rest I`ve done only from eyeballing and some I have made along the way by my own....and actually I think I have like 35 models or so.
So for the simpler ones just look closely and play with your ribbon althogh I`ve learned to take notes along the way to duplicate next time...that is very important.
