Default Another Bottle Cap Question - Please Help!

Ok, I bought the Modge Podge and another sealer to go on the top. I used a sponge instead of a brush this time, but they are still not smooth. You can see the streaks in the sealer and it is driving me crazy. Everyone elses appear so smooth and mine look rough because of the ridges.

Any help?

Just to clarify, when attaching bottle caps to bows, most of you are just putting glue on around the rough edge? And these don't fall off? It just seems they would fall off without attaching something in the center to the bottle cap and then attaching that to the bow.

Since I am going to be selling these, I don't want them coming apart. Boy, that would be embarrasssing.

Thanks so much for your help. You Gals are Great! I have learned so many new things here.

Can't help you with the sealer, but for attaching, I hot glue a button underneath the cap and then use E6000 to attach it to the bow.

HTH.

What sealer did you buy? You can't just seal with Modge Podge alone, it will show brush strokes. Are you using a resin for the top coat?

Ok, I did not know that. I am using Modge Podge, but didn't know I needed anything else.

Any suggestions for a resin?

Thanks.

The only thing I use on mine is 3-D Crystal Lacquer. They are shiny when dry. I don't see any streaks.

You can buy clear spray sealer for them. It's like clear spray paint. It shouldn't make them run.

I also use sally hansens clear top coat nail polish to seal my images. So far it has worked great! Dries very fast...within a couple of minutes or less I also use the envirotex lite to seal mine (just started using it) and should have started with it in the first place!! Super easy to use and soooo easy to get bubbles out of it and lastly, dries so thick & crystal clear. I have the 3D crystal laquer but haven't tried it yet but still planning on seeing how it turns out being that I don't have to mix it if I only need a couple of bottle caps at a time...HTH
