These are really cute and a good idea. I would wear them myself also.

I was checking out both sites... Jennie Finch Store and bling-iton.com and they aren't made out of ribbon. I'm not exactly sure what kind of material it is, but the inside of the ribbon reminds me of my chalkboard fabric. I will have to look into this more.

That's the exact thing I was thinking about that fabric, it reminds me of the chalkmat stuff.

I tried the foam stuff, and it worked for a little bit, but if you sew it, it will eventually break and gluing didn't hold too well. Also the foam stretches. I just couldn't ever sell it if I thought it was going to break easily.

Like I said, Joanns had the ribbon in lots of colors, I picked up a few and I'm wearing one right now and I like it.

I've looked everywhere for that ribbon. Would you mind telling me what it's called? I don't know if I'm just not looking for the right stuff or my craft stores just don't carry it??

I was wondering if it was some sort of vinyl? I agree the backing isn't ribbon. I'll have to see what chalk mat fabric is. I'm not familiar with it.

The ribbon they have at Joann's is not the same as those websites, I believe everyone is still trying to figure that out. I was just commenting that there are ribbons with glitter at Joann's, it's not what is seen in the pic, but it did work and look okay.

I know this thread is from a while back... But, how long is the elastic that you used?

Has anyone been able to find out how these are made. I am looking for something to add for the spring and summer and for my grandaughter's teams.

I have an original one from the Softball World Series and it is really thick. Definately not ribbon at all and the glitter does not come off. It looks like an upholstery fabric or something. It has a rough texture to it.
I have tried to find these and gave up and ordered a few off ebay. I made some with the sequins and the girls all wore them to a big tournament, got sweaty and the sequin dye colored all their hair!
