Well it looks like I'm going to be a "meanest mom ever" and drag the kiddos to Michael's. I'm in love with the headbands and would wear them myself! I'll check my walmart first. If you ladies make one using the walmart/michael's ribbon please post a picture!

Ok, here ya go. It actually looks pretty good-but I haven't seen the Michael's stuff to compare it too either. I did the elastic on this one.

That turned out so nice! My 7 y/o DS walked by, glanced at the screen and said "Ohhhhh, sparkly!!" LOL I can't wait to get my hands on some of that ribbon! Thanks so much for sharing the pictures!

I sewed one end and glued the other on this one I didn't have the size of elastic I wanted, so this was a little skinnier than what I was hoping I had, so it was hard to sew it and the end that I ended up gluing I ripped out when I pulled on it because I sewed it too close to the end. If I had the right size, it would work-but just use some e6000 on it and use alligator clips to hold it while it dries.

Those headbands look really cool. I love them!! This summer my hubby and I decided to go ahead and cut our oldest daughter's hair, she is 6, short. Well she wanted it "dora the explorer" short so we went ahead and did it. I now have the hardest time doing her hair. It is super straight and thin and pony o's don't seem to hold all that well at her soccer games. I am definetly going to try this tonight and see if I can do them. Where can I purchase the elastic?? Does it come in packages like the ric rac??? Thanks for all the pics and inspriration!!

Brynnley's hair was just past her shoulders not too long ago, but it was always so straggly looking, so hers is stacked in the back. It's longer in front so that I can still pull it back. Hers is really thin and fine too-I use the little ouchless rubberbands when I pull her back, but any regular rubberband doesn't stay very well.

The elastic you can get anywhere-yes it comes in a pkg.
