Default Tutu Help Needed

I made my first tutu yesterday and I was wondering if anyone knows how to keep the tulle straight. I'm using the 6" strips of tulle and tying it to the elastic but it keeps wrinkling up on me. I tried to us the hairdryer to help straighten it but after awhile it just wrinkled again. Any help would be great. TIA!

What kind of tulle are you using? The first tutu I made was with walmart tulle and it looks really wrinkly in comparison to the one I just made with UB tulle.... But you can hang it on your shower rod and turn on the shower as hot as it will get and let it steam up the bathroom and it will get the wrinkles out of the tutu for awile....HTH

I've only used Hobby Lobby on the roll and have never had any problems.

I'm not sure how you are tying your tulle on so I don't know if this will help but.... when I made my tutu for my DD I used 6 inch strips (off the roll from hobby lobby) and i layered 2 strips together then folded them twice. In half lengthwise once and then again. I would think that would help keep them straighter and after you have it completed you can seperate the layers to make if fuller. HTH

Do you mean getting wrinkled as you are making it? If so, I sit off the edge of my couch and put the elastic around the top of my knee. As I tie it off, I just rotate the elastic around my knee and it keeps it pretty straight, if ykwim?
