Default Starching Bows?

Hi ladies, I need to get my bows stiffer! I put them on flip flops and I want them to keep their shape. I can't bake them because I attached buckles to the centers so I was thinking fo starching them.

Do you just spray the starch on your bows and let them dry? No ironing I assume because they are already bows.

Any tips??

I like Stiffin' Up or a mixture of half stay-flo and half water. I let them dry by the window.

I like using hairspray like freeze it; it is much lighter than starch.

So you apply it after the bow is made, but before it is attached?

I bake my bows before they are assembled at 275 degrees for 20min. Then I spray them with the stay-flo/water mix and put them back in the oven to dry (after the oven is turned off and cooling...they dry really quickly this way). After they are assembled I spray them one more time with starch.

Also, for any bow I put on a shoe, I also spray them with two coats of ScotchGuard. This way they are protected from major staining and they can wipe clean with just a damp cloth. HTH

OK, I tried the hairspray and it worked great!

Yes, I also scotch guard all the bows that go on the flip flops.

I have no patience so I dry mine with the hair dryer! LOL
I have a block of styrofoam and I lay the bow on that, put a few pins if I need to shape them here or there.
First hair spray, then a coat of starch, dry them and one more coat of hair spray.
They aren't going anywhere! LOL
