Tonya just posted about a pair of plier cutters she bought in the scrapbook section that cuts them off flat so there's nothing left but the flat back. I'll look for it.

Seriously guys, I luuurve these new plier thingys!!! I've been using them all day and they're good for cutting off the the extra ends of brads too.

For those brads I've been burning a small hole in the ribbon where I want the brad and then I thread the back thingys through. Then I fold them back like they're intended, cut off the extra, and glue the ribbon down where it's supposed to go. I actually tried to pull one off and it didn't budge! I know someone was worried glue wouldn't be enough.

thanks! That clears the brad issue up for me. I don't have any yet, but was kinda wondering what I'd do!

I remember Amanda said that she uses wood turning tool to melt and remove the shank.

As for the brads are there concerns that should you get stuck in the rain that they may rust all over the ribbon.

I don't think they would rust anymore than alligator clips or French clips would.

I've had some alligators (not ones I made though) rust a bit in the past.
