WOw!! I am sooo glad that you explained this! I never would have figured it out! I ussually use paint pens, but they glop sometimes! So I will definitely have to try this!!!!

I buy the precut letters. THey have them at Walmart, michaels, etc. I just paint them and add them to the board to give it more dimension. I have trouble with stencils so its easier for me that way.

I would love to see pics of your final product!

(By the way Walmart has some plaques that have wire scrolls at the top which make for easy hanging.)

Ok-- this may be a stupid question, but I have tried to make what I type into word a mirror image and even the help section says you can't manipulate text like this --even in a text box. So how do I create a mirror image??? Thanks!

You should be able to flip it....if you can't in a word processing program I know you can in a photo manipulation program....I use that when i make iron ons....you can find fonts online and then just type what you want in GIMP or Photoshop....

I did it....I used carbon paper and traced the letters on and then painted....very simple!

I love those bow holders and would love to make one. I'm not a very good painter though. For those of you that have tried making one by tracing letters, did they turn out okay? Also, has anyone tried making one using vinyl stickers?

wow that looks great. i used to paint wood plaques but i don't think they were that nice like yours
