Not sure what you mean? Is the ribbon bleeding onto the dowel?

Something like that the color of the ribbon is on the dowel. Like if I make blk korkers the dowels turns blk. And I can only use it for dark colors but I was doing yellow and I reused it for white forgot it was used for yellow, well my white ribbon was yellow on the inside

Wow! I've never had that problem. Thanks for the heads up. I don't know how to help, but maybe color the end of the dowel for the color of ribbon you are suppose to use. Sorry, really lame I know, but I've never had that happen.
Anyone???? Ideas????

What if you painted the dowels with some heat resistant paint to seal them? Like the paint that you use around fireplaces??? Then they wouldn't be able to absorb any color or bleed that color back out. Just an idea...

Sound like a good idea. I'll try it out.

You are either cooking them too long or at too high of a temperature. There is a great tutorial on the Ribbon Retreat website.

What temperature are you baking them at? Are you using gas or electric?

When I first made korkers I baked them at too high of a heat, and had this happen, since then I lowered the heat, and haven't had anything bleed. I did also notice that when using gas I needed to lower the temp 25 more degrees.

I rarely make korkers anymore, I hate 'em! I only do enough to use as pieces to be used with other bows.

I bake them at 300 for only 15mins. I guess I will try to lower the heat. But I just dont what them not to cook. Thanks
