Default Just frustrated!!!

I don't know where I should really post this but I am just soooo frustrated
I started my online store/site and I just can not get it all together!!! Which I know I could be doing something on there right now besides typing this but I am needing any kind of advice I can get at this point Did it take any of you FOREVER to get your site up & running??? In the sense of getting products added and situated?!?!? I still have a whole bunch of my old stuff on there and need to get all of my new/better bows and things on there. I know it is the end of the school year and with all of the running around after 3 kiddos, the house work, getting orders out & trying to get some rest in there from time to time, I just can not get it done....(sigh).

So my question is, do any of you ladies have any suggestions on what could make it faster or easier to get it stocked on there??? Did it take you awhile to get it the way you wanted it?? I know what slowed me down in the very beginning was the fact that I had to figure out everything and how to operate it but I think I finally have that part down Just don't know if I am getting frustrated for no reason or if there is anything I can do to make it easier on myself...I tend to do things the hard way

Thank you in advance for any help I can get!!!!

Hi Krista,

First off, let me just say I think your site looks great! It's obvious that you're still adding inventory, but it really does look good so far. I have a wahmshoppe that I have sold from before and am currently uploading inventory to, to re-launch so I can totally sympathise with you . A couple of suggestions:

1. You may already be doing this, but what I like to do is set a manageable goal for the day. Before I sit down at the computer I decide what I am going to get listed that day. Mine today is to just get 10 dyed nylons listed.

2. Take advantage of your "copy listing" function. I noticed that all of your descriptions are very item specific which is great and if that is really important to you then, by all means continue on in that direction. IMO, your pictures are clear enough that you don't need a detailed description...just a general description of what they are looking at. So with your crochet headbands and bows you could have a general description that fits each one and just copy the same listing over and over, changing only the picture and title each time.
Here is an example of what I am talking about. Clippie Pairs - Tessie Lou Designs

Once you get all of your content up you can always go back in and edit your item descriptions if you think you need to. I hope this makes sense . It really is alot of work, but it's so fun to see your website come together...Good luck!

don't get frustrated...just think of it as a couple of months job..it takes time
Here is what helped me:
1. Inlaws!!! seriously, we were visiting my inlaws in IL and stayed there for a few days, during that time whenever I find that there is nothing for me to do I try to do work on the site.
2. as tessielou said use the copy function. I still do that for many of my items especially when trying to add the optional colors or going between my website and etsy store.
3. Do not be critical and spend hours listing one item. do what you can FAST, after the site is completed or whenever you find a mistake you can correct it.
4. do it in batches, for example I would spend a few hours on photoshop inhancing tens of pictures before I go to the website and add them instead of inhancing the picture one by one and then adding it to the site.
HTH and goodluck,
-Majd

Thank you so much ladies for the suggestions!!! I had no idea there was a "copy function"!!! That would be soooo much help right there! That is why all of my decriptions are different and sparatic (sp?) because of doing them one by one. When I have tons to get on there and it is one by one with a full sheet of info to type it takes FOREVER it seems like!!! The copy function will help tremendously!!!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

cute site! I may be a dork but do you mind sharing how you treat your ribbons to repel stains? I was going to make some flips for my girls but then I thought about how dirty they would get!

Hi! I am probably the dork for using it but it really seems to work...my 4 yo dd has worn hers for what seems like FOREVER...LOL, and so far they still look great! We also live in the country surrounded by dirt dirt & more dirt!
Anyhoo, I use the scotch guard for treating fabrics for crafts. I found it in the craft section at my local little walmart hidden on the bottom row. I thought I would give it a try and I have had many customers tell me it really does work, especially on the little ones that get them dirty easier!! It is $5 something for a can but it goes a long way!! I also use Vectra. It is a stain & water repelant for clothing/shoes. I order it online but it costs more so I use the Scotch guard now more
