That's funny - I was wondering how in the heck people do those with a punch and thought that metal extra part would have to come out, but didn't know how to remove it!!! So you just yank it out???

I will be yanking out mine too...sometimes it gets stuck shut on the cap...lolol heck you learn something new each day!!

I use a bead reamer (sp) bought it at walmart for around $5. works great and makes the perfect size hole for me.

i use a punch that is made to go through handmade silver jewlery, it slides through like butter! not sure of the brand but you can find it anywhere that sales jewlery making supplies
