Default How to correctly sew the creases in a bow?

Hello, I had just asked the other day how to make a pinwheel bow and finally have making the bow down pat but using a Sallys clip and embroidery floss is creating so many creases it just doesn't look as pretty. I would be so grateful if someone could please tell me the correct way of sewing the middle to create pretty creases so that I can stop making myself crazy trying to figure this bow out. Thanks So Much

Have you tried it with needle and thread? I poke my needle in from the back (in the middle). Pull it all the way through . then I wrap the thread over the top and grab the thread from the back and slowly pull to gather the top half. Then I bring the thread up to the front again (around the bottom half) and gather the bottom half. I then wrap the tread around another time or two making it tighter each time. Then I pull it off my sally's clip and wrap it a few more times until I'm happy & tie it off. It took me a few tries but I eventually got it down. HTH

Some people also just stitch it up the middle with a needle & thread or a straight pin. then they gather it on the needle & wrap the thread around it.

yeah, I do the needle in the middle thing for most bows... I just poke a pin in the middle to keep it together, then gather around it and take the pin out. I do use elastic thread though... it's easier to scoot things around once it's tied, so you can pull the loops of the bow if one is bigger then the other, and fiddle around with the creases! But I've really just started getting really good creases, and I think alot of it is just practice.
