Default frustrated with bow loops!

I have been trying to make different boutique bows for the past week . . . I know practice makes perfect, BUT I am having a difficult time making the loops look like boutique bows -- you know, starchy, crisp and flipped-out . . . they just look flat . . .
anyone know what I am doing wrong?
thank you!!

Hi, not sure i can help with this sort of bow but are you stiffening them?

I put dowels through the loops and spray with extra hold hair spray then blast with the hairdryer and this makes them stiff and crisp.. i tried starching and baking them in the oven but this discoloured my ribbon.. anyway, not sure if this would work on this sort of bow but thats how i get my double looped bows to stay upright and not flop!

I spray mine with starch after I'm done. I make a bunch of them, lay them out on a piece of cardboard and spray.

To make your loops try changing the angle of your x. The narrower your x the closer your loops with be and the more they will stand up

Do you have a picture of your bows you could post, that might help you get more replies and suggestion.

I would try the TOTTS or TNT bow makers. TOTTS is by ribbon retreat.com.

Folding is also a big deal when it comes to nice loops, and the "x" mentioned before.
