It took a little while to get the pattern down and get the hang of holding them tight constantly but once I had practiced on a few I love making them. Really not very hard at all! Even the first one I made looks pretty good although I did not 'get' how to start it the first time and the end is a little messy looking. My fingers do get sore if I make a few in a row because I am pulling so much to keep them tight.

I don't think you will have any issues...read the instructions the previous poster linked (that is where I learned from) and I think there is a video on you tube that can help too (sorry, I don't have a link). Good Luck!

YouTube - Make Ribbon Woven Headbands (Part One) by www.hair-hardware.com

This helped me alot--I used the video after becoming frustrated with the instructions that I had purchased. Regarding keeping the ribbon tight, I used alligator clips every couple of inches when I first started making them to hold everything in place until I really got the hang of things....
Good Luck!!!

It only took me 3 hours to do my first one!! LOL After I got the hang of it, I was able to finish one in less than 10 minutes, I think. I'm a bad judge of time. Anyways, I have found it easier using 5/8" ribbon versus 3/8". It is much easier to get the braid even, in my opinion. Plus, it takes less ribbon and less time! What does the back of everyone's look like? Just like the front? If so, I'm not quite doing them right, but they still look nice, so I'm sticking with it.

Once you get the rythm down, they are so much fun! I was so addicted to them when I first started. I also use an alligator clip every few inches to keep it tight.
