It's a tape produced by Merrick and Day that has been re-named by "JoDees" in the US who distributes it in North America. They claim that it is washable and they market it as a no-sew alternative for adding appliques etc to home decor items such as pillows and drapes and things.
You can find the tape if you look on JoDees website Home Page
If you do a search on the forum you can see the (endless...) discussions regarding this tape (lol)

Someone did a group buy on here a few weeks ago , I think-but another poster said that the terrifically tacky tape that you get at Wal-mart in scrapbook section is the same thing. I think at Wal-mart it's around $3 for 5 yards. Hope that helps

I found a very similar product at Michael's. I just wanted to test it out without buying a huge roll.

My thoughts...

It makes 'mass producing' clippies easier.
I am not getting burned by oozing hot glue, which is a big plus
It's easier to get a straight application of the ribbon than with glue

The only downside is getting the protective layer off the top when I need to use it. I push the tape firmly onto the ribbon, and then bend the corner of the ribbon back so that I can get to the protective layer.

I love the seahlah taple for covering headbands with satin or double ruffle ribbon. Very smooth finish. The clippies look sharp too. But it does take a few times to get used to it.

I put the tape on the clippie first, and then line with the ribbon. I don't know if it's any easier.

I'll line a bunch of clips while I'm doing something else, like helping my kids with homework. (uh, yeah right! I'm really watching the tv!!), and put them away. Then, when I'm ready to complete a bow, I'll line the clip with the ribbon.

I got thermo web. I think it works well for lining clips with ribbon. It does NOT work well for sticking the bow or embellishment to the ribbon lined clippie.

It's the thermo web that I got, too. It was about $3 for a roll. I covered 40 clips and still have plenty.
