Sorry no help here, I have trouble with mine too. Someone posted something a while back about using tape to keep the ribbon together and then cutting, remove the tape and then seal the ends...but I tried it. I must be doing something wrong because is worked until I tried to remove the tape...it just frayed my ribbon.

sorry for sounding stupid, but i am very new to this.
when you say v-cuts, do you mean like the spikey tails?
i fold my ends in half length wise, and cut at an angle, and then when you unfold them, they are even sorry if thats not what your talking about.

I always fold in half and cut with my rotary cutter.

Me, too-but one addition, I heat seal with a lighter while they are still folded then quickly unfold before it sticks together.

I fold mine also, and make sure you are using really sharp scissors. I have a pair for just fabric/ribbon because paper dulls them.

The problem I have is sealing the v cuts. I think I need to lower my heat.

Get yourself one of those metal triangular rulers. You can usually find them at a craft store where the doll house making supplies are at. I use that and my heat tool to cut along the lines. I get perfect V cuts every time.

I bought mine on ebay...here is the link:
X-Acto 3" Precision Stainless Steel Ruler Triangle 7725 - eBay (item 260346470741 end time May-13-09 12:39:08 PDT)
