Default Stupid, stupid question

Do you have to heat seal organdy? It doesn't seem like you should have to, but I feel compelled to do it.

Someone enlighten me.

Yes-- It frays very easily and extremely. I use a lighter, but do not touch the organdy to the flame as I do my grosgrain. Hold it taut (sp) so that it cannot shrivel and just get the lighter close to it. The tighter you hold it, the straighter the seal will be, I have found. Hope this makes sense!! Good luck!

There's no such thing as a stupid question!

It also works to use a wood-burner/ruler to seal it.

The first bow I used organza ribbon on I used fray check, you could see the spot where I put it. The second time I used a lighter, but put it too close to the flame......yes it does burn.
