I make all of mine where the clip opens to the left. Like this >
And I make one going each way for piggies.

Okay, allow me to add to the confusion, lol! Except for those designs that would obviously be upside down, ours are done (if you are looking at the front of the bow) with the pinch clasp on the right. This is because most people are right handed and want to pinch with their right hand.

With korkers, you can't see the clip so even on a pair it wouldn't matter.

But, hey, we're flexible, we can change to whatever someone wants!

the majority of mine are made to be placed on the right side of the head for the stores. on my website I offer a place that says side styled on: left side, right side. I know how confusing this can be I asked a customer which way did her hair part she said to the right. I thought this meant she style the hair to the right. She was speaking as which way the part was on top of her head. her part was to her right which caused the majority of her hair to fall on the left. That is why the website states side STYLED ON not PARTED on. Who knew is could get so complicated.

I make all of my clippies (that would be upside down if turned a certain way) to where the pinch is on the right. Exactly the same reason as Joan said. People like to pinch with their right hand. I am left handed, so I make everything backwards from me.

OK--my girls have their hair part different ways...due to how it grows. Ash has a cowlick in the front (poor girl) that forces her hair to part on her right and fall to her left...for her I make my bows like Michelle's first clip (the little doggie). But for Olivia...her hair parts on her right and falls to her left--so for her the clip is like Michelle's second bow (the yellow one). This would only matter with bows with tails, as you could flip most bows upside down and clip it to either side of a childs head--right?

Makenna wears hers on the left side. (Opposite from most I guess).
She is "double crowned" and it's the lesser of two evils. lol
