Question TUTU Help!!!!

Ok so a while back I made a tutu for my daughter using a tutorial that used a piece of satin ribbon as a waist band. I decided to try one with the elastic. The first one i did i guess my elastic was too wide (1.5inches) and kept rolling. So then I got the 1/2 inch no roll elastic to try. its not rolling but for some reason i cant get the knots to lay smoothly. Can anyone give me some advice?

I make all my knots around the tube of a regular pen that I have taken apart if that makes sense? That way I can make the knots tight and uniform, then I slide the elastic through the inside of the pen tube and slide the tulle on to the elastic out the other end.

hmmm... that sounds like a good idea. what size elastic do you use?

I use 1/4" usually and put it through folded so it is double. I have used bigger but have a harder time making it nice and smooth. The 1/4" doubled is nice and sturdy and makes the waist not as bulky.

Awesome I will definitely try that! I bought some 1/4 inch elastic yesterday thinking that maybe it would make my knots smoother. I try it today. thanks!!!!
