I would use a zigzag or other stitch meant for knits so that the shirt still has stretch when you put it on. Otherwise the stitches might pop out and you're left with a plain tank top.

it will probably be better....I was just in such a hurry to make it...LOL
this one will probably be ok once I put the ribbon over it- cuz Chloe is pretty small and this tank is big on her.
But for the others...I will zig zag! Thanks

Okay, I'm a very novice sewer so excuse my question, but will the zig zag stitch ruffle the tulle, too? What setting would you use?

Don't use a zig zag to ruffle....ruffle it first then sew it on the tank with a zig zag stitch that way the bottom of the shirt will still stretch some without breaking the stitches.

I just made one.



I have black leggings to go with it. I am adding a bow along the ribbon, probably a tails down zebra print bow with pink center. And of course, matching hairbows for my dd's hair.
