Default How to attach bottle caps to alligator clips

I know this has been asked a million times, but I just can't seem to find a good and semi quick way to attach bottle caps to my alligator clips.. I tried the gluing the ribbon into the bottle cap like someone suggested, but it's not working for me.. maybe I am not doing it right?? Can someone lead me in a good direction? Thanks! Abbey

Hi Abbey - OK - this is the only way it has worked for me. I turn the cap over and fill the entire thing wiht hot glue. I let it dry until hard, then I put some E6000 on it and stick it to the allie clip. HTH! I did buy a 1" dowel and my hubby is going to cut them to 1/2" circle slices for me as I can only seem to find 1/4" ones at HL and such. Too thin. (Sorry for the first blurry pic!!!)

Hi Shelley,
I never thought to do that.. that's a good idea... right now I am using 1/8 in pop dots and gluing 2 together with the E6000... It takes FOREVER! I am selling my clips in a little shop here in Ca and I need to make more to put in the shop, but it seems like it's taking a long time to get things done doing it the way I am... THanks for your help! Abbey

It is something that works for me. I couldn't find a button thick enough to actually touch the clippie - for some reason I wnted it to touch so that it wouldn't scoot around????

I do it like that too. And then I just put a dab of E600 on the edges of the cap where it will touch the clip.

I just tie a knot with 7/8" ribbon and cut off the tails and glue it inside the cap with E6000 and then E6000 it to the clip.
