Minimum 50 yards. Anything below that doesn't look full enough imo. I make them with 100 yards.
HTH!!

It just depends on what size waist and how long, and how full you want it

It depends on how full and how long. I made one for my 2 year old that was about 7 inches long. I used about 25 yards.

HTH.

I want it to be pretty full, but it's just for her to play dress up and do her little twirly dance in. She's 2 and I would probably use a 7" length.

How full was the tutu after you finished and what length of elastic did you use?

It was pretty full, I think ~ I attached a picture for you to see. I used 1" non-roll elastic and it was cut at 16". My dd is pretty little (only 22 pounds) so you may want to adjust it.

HOW CUTE!!!! Your daughter is adorable. Thanks for the help. I think I may order a couple of rolls, 2 colors? Then I can see how many yards I actually end up using. But 50yds should be enough.

thanks ladies for the help!!

Thanks, I think she's a sweetie!

I used 2 colors (white and pink) on that one, although it is hard to tell. I used 3 strips of one color, then 3 strips of the next. It made nice color blocks.

Thinking back, it was 50 yards that I used ~ one roll of each color. Silly me!

Best of luck with yours!!
