Default For those that have made ribbon flip flops

I am working on doing some more ribbon flip flops and i was wondering from those that have done these do you just tie your ribbon once or twice? I tried tying twice but it kinda made a big knot and I thought that might bother the people who wear them. What is your advice?

I tie them twice, and glue them. Ribbon itself makes the flops tighter, I just tell people maybe order a size larger.
