Default Pony'O sewing???

Hi all! I am trying to figure out if there si an easier way to sew your bows onto a ponytail "O". I currently use the metal less ones and sew up the middle of my bow and wrap around... is there a better way??? Also, do you use the ones with the metal?? I was wondering if they would hold better and it gives the knot a better place to hold to ...

any direction or thoughts are greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

I take my ribbons, line them up and run them through my sewing machine. Then I gather the center like I would the center of a bow and wrap it with floss and secure. Then I take more floss and wrap around the center of the ribbon and the pony-o. That way, the ribbons can slide on the pony-0 if needed. Then wrap the center with a knot or whatever you want. Did that make any sense at all? LOL

I used to sew and hot glue my ribbons to the pony'o but now I just use a zip tie and boy does it hold. Before I put my center ribbon on I use my wood burning tool to get rid of the sharp edges. So far I have not had any complants.

Okay, dumb question...if you use a zip tie, even a small one, how do you get the ribbon or know over it without it being a huge bump?! Maybe I am doing something wrong. I got the small zip ties with the idea I would do this, but when I went to wrap my ribbon around to cover the zip tie there is a huge bump. What is wrong with me!?
