Default baking bows????

I was just reading a thread about baking korkers and twisted boutique bows. I had never heard of this before. I have never made korkers, but I do make the twisted boutique. Does everyone bake them? Do you use the fabric stiffener(can't think of what it is called)? I don't use anything, but I think I need to. Once the bows go through the mail, I am sure they have taken a beating, What does everyone use?

I've thrown a couple of bows in the oven sprayed with fabric stiffener at the same temp as I do korkers (275) but either it was too hot or I left them in too long cause there was a little browning going on .

Thanks! I think I am going to try the starch 1st. It seems easier. I did attmept the baking thing last night, but I was scared and did not leave them in long enough. I didn't want to over bake them.

Yeah, I bake the korkers while they're on the dowels so that the ribbon get curly. I bake them at 275 for 15-20 minutes. I actually put hair spray on mine before I bake it, and it works pretty well. I've never baked any boutique bows though!

I bake both @275 for 25 min. I bake the bows before I put them together. It's the same with bows as with korkers, they hold their shape. HTH

I must've had them in for too long then. My daughter keeps me so occupied, sometimes I lose track of time . NOTE TO SELF: USE OVEN TIMER

Quick question. I don't want to blow up my house. I have finished bows that I have sprayed with starch. Just stick them in the oven? TIA-Karyn
