Default Felt Clips

I just bought the cuttlebug machine and I am making some felt clips. I saw some people say on etsy that they heat seal the felt. Is this necessary? I heat seal all my ribbon but I just don't see heat sealing the felt for fear of the item losing shape.

Also, any suggestions for purchasing felt??

Without seeing their conversation, I think they may be talking about using either Heal Seal Felt or just purchasing the heal seal backing by the yard and applying it to the back of the felt. Kind of like an iron-on patch instead of a sew-on patch; or the felt you see on football jerseys; it's heat sealed on the back and you iron it in place; I believe there are two types of sealers...one that you don't have to sew, and a lighter weight sealer you iron on, then sew around the edge.
